Eranthis Salisb. (Ranunculaceae) in South Siberia: Insights into Phylogeography and Taxonomy

چکیده
Eranthis Salisb. (Ranunculaceae) is a herbaceous plant genus, including few species disjunctively distributed throughout the temperate zone from Southeastern Europe to Eastern Asia. Until recently, only sibirica DC. was known in South Siberia, being considered endemic and tertiary relict. Not long ago, tanhoensis Erst also described Siberia. We report here reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships between Siberian based on nuclear (ITS) plastid (trnL + trnL-trnF trnH-psbA) DNA. The phylogeographic structure distinguished by presence two “eastern” “western” supergroups, which most likely formed as result disjunction caused active mountain uplifts during late Neogene–early Quaternary subsequent progressive Pleistocene cooling. eastern supergroup combines lineage I, containing populations Khamar-Daban Ridge, Sayan Mountains, Tannu-Ola II western populations. includes III, Western Our data clearly show that E. nested clade, thereby indicating its description separate unjustified, it compromises monophyletic status sibirica. Therefore, we suggest consider synonym

Preliminary Insights into the Phylogeography of Six Aquatic Hyphomycete Species
Aquatic hyphomycetes occur worldwide on a wide range of plant substrates decomposing in freshwaters, and are known to play a key role in organic matter turnover. The presumed worldwide distribution of many aquatic hyphomycete species has been based on morphology-based taxonomy and identification, which may overlook cryptic species, and mask global-scale biogeographical patterns. This might be c...
متن کاملPhylogenetic insights into the correlates of dioecy in meadow-rues (Thalictrum, Ranunculaceae).
Numerous studies have examined the evolution of sexual systems in angiosperms, but few explore the interaction between these and the evolution of pollination mode. Wind pollination is often associated with unisexual flowers, but which evolved first and played a causative role in the evolution of the other is unclear. Thalictrum, meadow-rues (Ranunculaceae), provides a unique opportunity to stud...
متن کاملPhylogeography and Taxonomy of Trypanosoma brucei
BACKGROUND Characterizing the evolutionary relationships and population structure of parasites can provide important insights into the epidemiology of human disease. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS We examined 142 isolates of Trypanosoma brucei from all over sub-Saharan Africa using three distinct classes of genetic markers (kinetoplast CO1 sequence, nuclear SRA gene sequence, eight nuclear mi...
متن کاملThe rise of angiosperm-dominated herbaceous floras: Insights from Ranunculaceae
The rise of angiosperms has been regarded as a trigger for the Cretaceous revolution of terrestrial ecosystems. However, the timeframe of the rise angiosperm-dominated herbaceous floras (ADHFs) is lacking. Here, we used the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae) as a proxy to provide insights into the rise of ADHFs. An integration of phylogenetic, molecular dating, ancestral state inferring, and dive...

Autism and autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) such as Rett syndrome and Asperger syndromeare enigmatic and complex neurodevelopmental disorders, thought to have originated inparticular interactions of genetic and environmental factors. Despite the extensive research, exact mechanism of pathogenesis is not still completely understood. ASDs are characterizedby deficits and abnormalities in communica...
